About the Role
The Civil Engineer supports the planning, development, and delivery of public infrastructure projects across York City. This role works with city departments, contractors, and community partners to help create safe, reliable, and accessible public spaces.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and manage infrastructure upgrades by reviewing engineering plans, drawings, and project documents. Collaborate closely with contractors and city teams while monitoring project timelines, budgets, and progress. Regularly visit sites to stay informed and write reports to share project ideas.
Why It Matters
A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, relevant professional experience, strong project management skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams clearly.
